Free Spanish-Language Mejor Vida Health Course in Peekskill

HRHCare is pleased the launch of a six-week Mejor Vida Program, a Healthy Choices New York self-management course given in Spanish, offered in Peekskill starting on March 5th. This community-based workshop is free of charge and will tackle topics such as healthy eating; exercise; managing depression; appropriate use of medication; effective communication with family and health professionals; relaxation techniques; how to navigate the health care system; and new health treatment evaluation. Long Island Employees Wear Red for Heart Disease Prevention

At HRHCare Health Centers across Long Island, employees donned red outfits on February 6th to show their support for heart disease prevention on National Wear Red Day. Staff could take it a step further and sport jeans at work as well if they agreed to make a $5.00 donation to the American Heart Association. Carole Robinson’s Signals to Freedom Show at the H-Art Gallery

HRHCare will present Signals to Freedom, a show of quilts from artist Carole Robinson, at the H-Art Gallery in Peekskill starting February 8th with opening receptions held on February 13th and 14th. A native New Yorker and consummate jewelry maker, lamp worker and quilter, Ms. Robinson will present a series of her own quilts featuring designs used as communication signals amongst slaves escaping to freedom on the Underground Railroad.
