Tomando Control de su Salud in Haverstraw

The HRHCare Health Center at Haverstraw will be offering Tomando Control de su Salud, a free six week community-based workshop series given entirely in Spanish beginning on June 11th. These workshops will be facilitated by two certified leaders, one or both of whom are non-health professionals and living with a chronic disease themselves. Workshop topics will include healthy eating; appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility and endurance; managing depression; appropriate use of medication; effective communication with loved ones and health professionals; relaxation techniques; appropriate use of the health care system; evaluation of new treatments; and better breathing techniques. HRHCare was very proud to welcome New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli to our HRHCare Alamo Health and Farmworker Community Centers at Goshen during his tour of the Black Dirt Region on May 19th.
