HRHCare Award $21.5 Million in State Funds with Additional Local Matching to Improve Health Care Services on Long Island

nysdohNew York State and Suffolk County Governments Place Trust in HRHCare to Fight Toughest Long-Term Health Challenges. Grant Will Fund Key Priorities for LI Communities.

Peekskill, NY – HRHCare, one of the largest federally qualified health center (FQHC) systems in the country, announced that it has received $43 million in new community health funding, including a $21.5 million grant from the State of New York’s Capital Restructuring Financing Program and Essential Health Care Provider Support Program and dollar-for-dollar matching from the Suffolk County Executive and Suffolk County Legislature. Both the state and local governments have prioritized community health services on Long Island, including service expansion proposals from HRHCare.

The funds, which were distributed as part of a $1.5 billion statewide grant to partners all over New York, will help HRHCare improve health care access and services at three of its facilities on Long Island. The facilities, located in Wyandanch, Patchogue and Brentwood, will use the grant to support HRHCare as it serves its patients and saves taxpayers money through its participation in New York State’s Delivery System Reform Incentive Program (DSRIP).

The selection of HRHCare for this grant is yet another testament to the unparalleled services it offers its patients on Long Island and around the state.

“Access to community-based health care can make all the difference for vulnerable New Yorkers. HRHCare is proud to be leading the way in our state as providers adjust to new, community-based health care delivery systems,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, President and CEO of HRHCare. “I want to thank Governor Cuomo, County Executive Bellone, the Suffolk County Legislature, and the committed advocates in our state and local governments for entrusting us with the funds to continue delivering quality, affordable health care services to underserved populations in Long Island.  These funds will make a big difference in people’s lives, and we are grateful for the Governor and County’s support as we improve efficiencies for our service populations.”
