Hudson River HealthCare Officially Opens Doors to State-of-the-Art Facility in Southampton

Southampton, NY (May 21, 2014) – Hudson River HealthCare (HRHCare), a not-for-profit, Federally Qualified Health Care (FQHC) system that offers a range of medical services at its facilities throughout New York State, officially opened the Kraus Family Health Center of the Hamptons at Southampton Hospital today with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony attended by local, county and New York State elected officials.  The new, state-of the-art health center will provide patients with affordable and convenient family health, behavioral health, women’s health services and dental health care.  The Kraus Family Health Center of the Hamptons is located on the campus of Southampton Hospital at 330 Meeting House Lane, Southampton, NY 11968.

“We are so pleased to open a new health center for the Hamptons and east end communities,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, President and CEO of HRHCare.  “By expanding primary health care services including family medicine, dental and behavioral health, along with WIC nutritional services, we are adding to the commitment made by the Suffolk County Department of Health Services so many years ago to create further access to affordable healthcare for residents in this area.”

The construction on the close to 10,000 square foot facility began on October 3, 2013.  The Kraus Family Health Center of the Hamptons will service HRHCare’s over 3,500 patients on the east end of Long Island providing comprehensive primary and preventative medical, dental and mental healthcare, especially for underserved and vulnerable residents.  The facility will also serve as a Family Residency Program to educate new doctors and medical professionals, a unique collaborative effort between HRHCare, Stony Brook Medicine and Southampton Hospital.

“This extraordinary new facility is a major advancement in providing Suffolk County residents with the best and most affordable health care services possible,” said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone.  “HRHCare shares our passion for making sure everyone in the community receives the health care they need, and we are excited to expand our partnership to further provide Suffolk County with access to affordable care.”

“The opening of this facility will be a great contribution to the health care system on the East End,” said Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr.  “At a time when the cost of health care causes people to be increasingly hesitant to seek treatment, HRHCare has done a tremendous job providing convenient and affordable access to health services to East End residents.”

HRHCare’s facilities throughout New York State, especially on Long Island, provide a holistic approach to healthcare, accommodating patients’ financial, cultural, language and scheduling needs.
