HRHCare Provides Free Flu Shots in Spring Valley

The HRHCare Hudson Valley mobile health unit made a stop by the Martin Luther King Center in Spring Valley to provide free flu shots to community members. As the flu season is expected to last through May, it is still not too late to get vaccinated. Senator David Carlucci, Assemblyman Kenneth Zebrowski, and Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee all came to support the day’s event.

“As a parent – I have two young kids – what I tell my friends that have kids as well, by getting the flu shot yourself, you are a shield. You won’t pass it along to your children or to the community,” said Senator Carlucci.

Later in the week, the same team is hosting another clinic, where parents are encouraged to bring kids aged 6 months and older. The CDC has confirmed nearly 17,000 cases of the flu in New York State as of last week, in all 62 counties.
