January 10, 2009; Peekskill, NY – Lisa Reid, Associate Director of HIV Services at Hudson River HealthCare, has received the Commissioner’s Distinguished Service Award.


The Commissioner’s Distinguished Service Award is made each year in conjunction with World AIDS Day. Individuals are selected from around the State, and are recognized for their work in the field of HIV/AIDS. Nominations are submitted by all of the Ryan White CARE Networks throughout New York State, by submitting a brief narrative about the nominee. Ms. Reid was nominated by Hudson Valley Network.


In her nomination it was noted, “Lisa Reid has been a committed supporter of HIV/AIDS services in the Hudson Valley region since 1989. Throughout her career in social work, she has been committed to empowering people and creating programs to meet their needs through activism and diligence. She is dedicated to enhancing the care continuum for the HIV+ community, and has demonstrated her commitment to the community by co-chairing the former Mid-Hudson HIV Care Network and serving as the co-chair of the case management committee for seven years. In addition, Lisa is an active member of the Dutchess HIV/AIDS Planning Council and former member of the Dutchess AIDS Consortium. As the Associate Director of HIV Services for Hudson River HealthCare, Ms. Reid continues to demonstrate her allegiance to the improvement of health and social services for individuals and families affected by HIV in the region.”


As the Associate Director of Genesis Clinical Services, Ms. Reid oversees HIV clinical services at several HRHCare health centers, at the following convenient locations: The Atrium at St. Francis
Hospital, 1 Webster Avenue, Poughkeepsie; at 6 Henry Street in Beacon; at 23 Lakewood Avenue in Monticello and at 1037 Main Street in Peekskill. She has worked in the field of HIV/AIDS for 19 years, almost eight of which have been with Hudson River HealthCare.
