The Preservation Company has a program that offers assistance with the following:
HOME OWNERSHIP:
- Counseling, advice about the home-buying process
- Help finding local properties
- Financial evaluation
- Debt and budget counseling
- Obtaining mortgage pre-approval
- Grants for down payment & closing costs
- Obtaining mortgage loans
- First-time home-buyer workshops
HOME IMPROVEMENT:
- Provides funds up to $15,000 for eligible repairs in homes owned by income-eligible households residing in the City of Peekskill. Types of eligible repairs include electrical upgrade, roof replacement, window replacement, plumbing repair, lead abatement, etc.
TENANT ASSISTANCE:
- Landlord/tenant counseling and mediation
- Referral to Section 8 rental assistance program
- Relocation assistance
- Referrals to support services
- Help locating emergency funding for rental payments
