Planetree at HRHCare


HRHCare is proud of its efforts to offer employees opportunities for growth and development through building new skill sets and knowledge through our Relias Learning courses, self-management programs and through our HRHCare Planetree Training Institute.

HRHCare established the Planetree Training Institute in 2012. The Institute provides state-of-the-art training, utilizing technology and hands on methods to prepare staff in delivering Planetree care. The core Planetree philosophy is focused on providing patient-centered care. Planetree integrates the technology of modern medicine with the healing dimensions of compassion, comfortable surroundings, and the shared knowledge and freedom to make educated choices. Cultural competency is woven throughout staff training and development programs.

Before I started working at Hudson River HealthCare, I read the Planetree mission about patient-centeredness. It draws people to Community Health Centers and touches the heart. The mission of providing patient-centered care creates high standards among staff.

Since 2004, HRHCare’s Step Up for Wellness program has changed the lives of hundreds of staff members by improving their own self-management skills.  This has allowed staff to gain an understanding of the challenges involved for patients taking a similar journey, which directly aligns with the Planetree philosophy.

HRHCare was one of nine small workplaces to receive the 2006 Secretary of Health and Human Services award for Small Workplace Wellness programs.  The award highlighted businesses and organizations that were spearheading efforts to promote healthier lifestyles inside and outside the workplace.
