Mejor Vida Spanish Language Workshop Series in Yonkers

Mejor Vida is an interactive workshop series designed for Spanish-speaking people with different chronic health problems and those who care for them. Taking place at our Valentine Lane Health Center at Yonkers, these workshops will focus on topics including healthy eating, exercise, managing depression, appropriate use of medication, effective communication skills, use of the health care system, evaluating new treatments, and techniques for better breathing. On Friday, October 23rd, HRHCare will participate in the Food Day nationwide campaign with an ‘Apple Crunch’ at all of our 25 Health Centers! Patients and community members will be able to take home a selection of locally grown apples generously donated by orchards in our service area and learn where to find the closest farmers market. HRHCare and the H-Art Gallery of Peekskill invite you to attend the opening for artist Jen DeMattio on Saturday, October 24 from 6 to 9 PM. Her solo exhibition entitled NOLD features a series of works documenting found objects. Intensely visually stimulating, her work encourages the observer to either dissect or accept the unnoticed aspects of everyday life.
