Champions of Hope Art Auction to Benefit The Preservation Company, Inc. of Peekskill

Peekskill, NY – The Preservation Company, Inc. is a Peekskill-based not-for-profit which seeks to increase access to housing for low and moderate-income families. Their prestigious Champions of Hope Committee, which represents a wide cross-section of Westchester County, will host a reception and auction of artwork from their Building Hope Art Collection on Saturday, September 6th at ArtsWestchester in White Plains. The auction will follow a weeklong exhibition of the work which will be open to the public. The Building Hope Art Collection consists of work donated by international and local artists, many of whom have been recipients of the very housing support that The Preservation Company provides.

Founded through HRHCare, a not-for-profit, federally qualified healthcare system offering a range of medical services for underserved areas throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island, The Preservation Company was created as a response to the housing crisis in Westchester County. It works to improve and increase access to the supply of housing in the community and to contribute to community development and revitalization, recognizing that the need for access to healthcare goes hand in hand with access to housing.

“For close to thirty years The Preservation Company has been a presence in the Westchester community, working alongside those in most need of their services,” says the Reverend Jeannette J. Phillips, Executive Director of The Preservation Company, Inc. “We are seeking your support to assist our Adopt a House program which will provide needed home improvements to four properties rented to low and moderate-income families.”

The Champions of Hope Reception and Auction will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 6th in the Main Gallery of ArtsWestchester, 31 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY. If you plan to attend please RSVP to Erika O. Nwogu by September 2nd at eonwogu@hrhcare.org or at 917-734-8929. The exhibition preceding the reception is free and open to the public from September 2nd until the 5th.
