Executive Assistant Nicolas Butty Wins 4th Quarter Planetree Innovation Award

NicoTarrytown, NY – HRHCare Community Health, a nonprofit system of Federally Qualified Health Centers offering a range of medical services for underserved communities throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island, is pleased to announce that Executive Assistant Nicolas Butty will be presented with the 2015 4th Quarter Planetree Spirit Award for Innovation in Patient Care. This award is presented by the HRHCare Planetree Institute to exemplary employees who find new ways to advocate for patients and create innovative ways for them to access high quality and affordable health care.
An Executive Assistant at the HRHCare Tarrytown Office, Nicolas (Nico) Butty came to the organization one year ago after working as a Service Agent for Air France at John F. Kennedy International Airport and later in Member Services with the United Nations Federal Credit Union. Bringing with him an incredible problem-solving skill set and an eye for detail, Nico quickly came up with an easier way to handle the dissemination of incentives (giveaways) to our Health Centers that could be used at various community health fairs and events. Instead of requesting these incentives via a series of e-mails or phone calls, Nico developed a form for the requestor to fill out and send to the Communications Department containing all of the information in one place. The form lets the requestor know what incentives are currently available, asks for the number of each incentive requested and for the requestor’s respective Health Center name and address to which they can be sent. These completed forms also serve to give the Communications Department a record of the community events in which HRHCare participates and data that helps determine what kind of incentives are the most effective, influencing which ones we keep in production. Now in use for six months, this form has particularly drawn attention to how many youth events in which HRHCare takes part, resulting in the Communications Department adding more youth-friendly incentives to their inventory.
“I just want to help in any way I can to make sure that more people learn about HRHCare and receive the care they need,” said Nico. “It is great that HRHCare serves so many patients who otherwise could not afford health care. In a country that does not have universal health care, what we do here is so valuable.” Originally from Geneva, Switzerland, Nico holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Management from La Haute École de Gestion de Genève. In his spare time he enjoys travel, soccer, skiing and playing a variety of other sports. After studying English in New York in 2009, Nico moved to the United States in September of 2013.
“Nico is great to work with, always assisting the Communications Department with a smile,” said Sharon Kirschner, HRHCare Communications Specialist. “In this case, Nico created a one-step process for fulfilling requests for incentives instead of the old system – a volley of e-mails. In addition to greatly simplifying the process on both ends, we now have a better sense of the events our outreach volunteers and staff attend and the audience at these events.”
