Cold Spring, NY – HRHCare, a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center that employs over 800 professionals and serves 135,000 patients at more than two dozen sites, announced today that its Director of Hispanic Services, Wilfredo Morel, will showcase his art as part of an exhibition at Gallery 66 NY in Cold Spring, New York. Located at 66 Main Street, the gallery will house “Farm Art: Sculpture in the Garden” from August 7th through August 30th. This includes an artists’ reception the evening of the 7th from 6 to 9pm.
Also on exhibit will be over 100 photographs by Francesco Mastalia. Mastalia’s “Organic” features the dedicated farmers who are committed to growing and producing food using sustainable methods, and the chefs who echo their beliefs and pay homage to the food they produce. The farmers and chefs were photographed using the wet plate collodion process, a technique developed in the mid-19th century.
“We’re committed to serving the people of the Hudson Valley and Long Island, and Wilfredo’s art is a celebration of those same communities,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, President and CEO of HRHCare. “The HRHCare family is very excited to see Wilfredo’s sculptures on display, and hope everyone will come out to Cold Spring to support First Friday.”
Mr. Morel has been with HRHCare for 25 years and in October of 2014 was appointed to Governor Cuomo’s Task Force to End AIDS. He lives in Peekskill and has been a mainstay of the local arts community for many years.
“I love the communities that my work takes me to, from the Hudson Valley to the East End of Long Island,” Mr. Morel said. “I try to reflect what I see in those communities in my art and I’m excited for the chance to exhibit here in Cold Spring.”
