HRHCare Employee Receives Presidential Letter

President's Letter to DianaAfter sending an e-mail to President Barack Obama this past fall regarding the failings of our nation’s immigration system, Diana Faustino, HRHCare employee and Reverend Jeannette Phillips Heritage Scholarship award-winning student of nursing and midwifery at Columbia University, received a letter back from the President thanking her for her concern and assuring her of his commitment to this issue.

Advocacy matters and is effective! Stand up for what is right and make your voice heard.

Dear Diana:

Thank you for the thoughtful email you sent this past fall.

Our country’s immigration system has been broken for too long, and messages like yours show we must do more to fix it. Too often, law-abiding families who have been here for a long time see little option but to remain in the shadows, or risk being torn apart. As President, I am committed to making the system more fair and more just, and I am going to keep fighting to ensure hardworking men and women who contribute to our communities have a pathway to citizenship.

Thank you, again, for your message. Please know it will remain in my thoughts, and I wish you all the best as you continue your studies.

                                    Sincerely,

                                    Barack Obama
