HRHCare Foundation Raises Nearly Quarter Million Dollars at 12th Annual Cornucopia

jeannette-scott-anneChappaqua, NY – HRHCare Community Health, one of largest federally qualified health center (FQHC) systems in the country, hosted its 12th Annual Cornucopia Benefit on Saturday, October 15th. Held at the farm-to-table restaurant Crabtree’s Kittle House  in Chappaqua, the event raised nearly $250,000 while recognizing the more than 40 year history of HRHCare providing quality health care to those in need, and looking to the future of the growing health care needs of the state.  Funds raised at Cornucopia will go toward the HRHCare Foundation’s efforts to supporting the organization in providing comprehensive primary and preventive health care to people in need throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island. The Foundation’s work has impacted the lives of over 150,000 New Yorkers, providing care that they would otherwise have been unable to access.

“We are thrilled with the success of the 12th Annual Cornucopia,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, President and CEO of HRHCare. “The funds we raised will bring much needed primary and preventive health care to the underserved populations in our communities and make sure that everyone has access to our high quality services.”

As a celebration of harvest and health, the HRHCare Foundation recognized Laura DeMaria of Hemlock Hill Farm in Cortlandt Manor for her passion and dedication to providing naturally raised, hormone-free animals and produce to restaurants and markets across the Hudson Valley.

The event also honored ArchCare, the continuing care community of the Archdiocese of New York, for their tireless efforts in providing health care services to communities in need throughout lower New York State. Earlier this year, ArchCare and HRHCare partnered to launch a Mobile Health Center van that serves agricultural workers and others in need across the Hudson Valley. Scott LaRue, President & CEO of ArchCare, accepted the award on the organization’s behalf.

Lead sponsors of the 12th Annual Cornucopia Benefit were  Annese & Associates, Inc., ArchCare, BioReference, Montefiore Health Systems, and United Health Care.
