HRHCare Hosts Free Living Healthy with Diabetes Workshops in Poughkeepsie

In partnership with Catholic Charities Community Services of Dutchess County, HRHCare Community Health will host a Living Healthy with Diabetes workshop series in Poughkeepsie, starting September 14. Led by peer leaders Celine D. Perez and Liz Phillips, this free, six-week series is an evidence-based health promotion program originally developed by the Stanford Patient Education Research Center for people living with diabetes, their caregivers, and their loved ones.

The workshop series will cover a variety of topics, including:

  • Finding practical ways to deal with sick days, fatigue, and pain
  • Discovering better food and exercise choices
  • Understanding new treatment options
  • Learning better ways to talk with medical professionals and loved ones about health care

The Living Healthy with Diabetes workshop series will be held every Thursday from September 14 until October 19, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, at Catholic Charities, 218 Church Street in Poughkeepsie. Parking is available at the back of the building.
