HRHCare Raises Over $260,000 to Bring Health Care to New Yorkers in Need at 13th Annual Cornucopia Benefit

Tarrytown, NY – HRHCare Community Health, one of largest federally qualified health center networks in the country, hosted its 13th annual Cornucopia Benefit on Saturday, October 21. Held at The Lodge at Hudson Harbor in Tarrytown, the event raised over $260,000 to support the comprehensive primary and preventive health services that HRHCare provides to people in need throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island. HRHCare currently serves over 175,000 New Yorkers, providing care they would otherwise be unable to access.

“We are thrilled with the success of the 13th annual Cornucopia Benefit,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, President and CEO of HRHCare. “The funds we raised will bring much needed primary and preventive health care to the underserved populations in our communities, and ensure that everyone has access to our high-quality services.”

As a celebration of harvest and health, Max Morningstar of MX* Morningstar Farm was honored at this year’s Cornucopia for his passion and dedication to providing organically grown produce to restaurants and markets across the Hudson Valley.

“The health of myself and the people who work for me are the real reason to continue to grow organically,” said Max Morningstar. “HRHCare is obviously a values-based organization, and we consider ourselves a values-based organization too. Caring about people is where we intersect.”

Former Chief Medical Office and current VP of Practice Transformation Paul Kaye, MD was also honored for his years of dedicated service to HRHCare patients.

“People who come to work in a community health center have a sense of mission and really care about the quality of the work they’re doing,” said Paul Kaye, MD. “It means a great deal to me that I’ve been associated with HRHCare all these years. It’s been one of the great joys of my life.”

Guests also had the opportunity to contribute to a special fund to support sending clinicians and medical supplies to Puerto Rico after the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Maria.

Lead sponsors of the 13th annual Cornucopia Benefit included ArchCare, Annese & Associates, Montefiore Health System, BioReference, Healthfirst, Sterling National Bank, and United Healthcare.
