Long Island Employees Wear Red for Heart Disease Prevention

coram 1At HRHCare Health Centers across Long Island, employees donned red outfits on February 6th to show their support for heart disease prevention on National Wear Red Day. Staff could take it a step further and sport jeans at work as well if they agreed to make a $5.00 donation to the American Heart Association. With heart disease killing more women each year than all cancers combined, the American Heart Association declared the first Friday in February to be National Red Wear Day. Wearing red has gone on to become an iconic symbol of the battle against heart disease and stroke in women and spread the message that 80% of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes. Thanks to all of our HRHCare family members in Amityville, Coram and Wyandanch who made a stand for heart disease prevention on Long Island this year!
