Patchogue Patient Representative Wins Planetree Award for Excellence in Patient Care

Kathleen MoloneyPatchogue, NY – HRHCare (Hudson River HealthCare), a nonprofit system of Federally Qualified Health Centers offering a range of medical services for underserved communities throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island, is pleased to announce that Kathleen Moloney, a patient representative at the HRHCare Health Center at Patchogue, will be presented with a Planetree Spirit Award for excellence in patient care. HRHCare’s Planetree Institute presents these awards to employees who go above and beyond to make health care more personalized and create a warm and welcoming environment for all.
A medical receptionist and intake clerk at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in Patchogue for 29 years, HRHCare was pleased to welcome Kathleen Moloney as a patient representative when our Health Center at Patchogue opened its doors in 2014. With a vast knowledge of the local area and the health care field, Kathleen is always willing and able to connect our patients with the information they need. From referrals, to insurance information, to just a friendly word of encouragement, Kathleen never fails to come through. “I am the first and the last face the patients see, so it’s my responsibility to make sure each person gets what they need and is treated in a kind and respectful manner,” said Kathleen. “It is my goal to serve all of our patients with respect, loyalty and consistency.” And to prove that she is not only concerned about our patients in her area, she and a team of her dedicated co-workers recently organized a collection for the food pantry at the HRHCare Alamo Health Center at Goshen in the Hudson Valley.
Not surprisingly, Kathleen has garnered several awards and glowing letters of thanks from patients over the course of her health care career. In her free time, she enjoys a good yard sale, refurbishing furniture, long walks on the beach and volunteering for charity, including a recent Pancreatic Cancer Walkathon at Jones Beach. Kathleen has a soft spot in her heart for animals, including her own cats Ginger and Bella, and donates supplies to her local animal shelter. She has also recently become a proud new home owner with her wonderful partner of 19 years, James.
“Kathleen always impresses our patients and staff with her professionalism and compassion,” said Sally Duffy, RN, of the HRHCare Health Center at Patchogue. “Sometimes patients don’t know where to turn in the health care system. Kathleen is dedicated to preventing that from ever happening.”
