Peekskill, NY – HRHCare (Hudson River HealthCare), a nonprofit, Federally Qualified Health Center offering a range of medical services for underserved communities throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island, is proud to announce that Charan Johnson, an HRHCare payroll accountant based in Peekskill, will be presented with a Planetree Spirit Award for excellence in patient care. HRHCare’s Planetree Institute presents these awards to employees who go above and beyond to make health care more personalized and create a warm and welcoming environment for all.

An employee of the organization for 17 years, Charan Johnson has become an integral and beloved member of the HRHCare family. Holding the important responsibility of processing payroll for HRHCare employees, she has been known to work holidays and weekends to make sure that the job always gets done in a timely fashion. HRHCare has seen exponential growth during her time with the organization, and her spirits have remained high despite her steadily increasing workload. “I have remained with HRHCare for so many years because of the incredible atmosphere here,” said Charan. “The Finance Department is a family. I have so much respect for the people I work with and feel that it is such a welcoming environment for patients and employees alike.” Charan holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Westchester Community College and is a certified payroll specialist with ADP. She is the proud owner of Daisy, a five year-old leopard gecko, and became a mother this past October with the birth of her daughter, Madison.

“Charan is always ready, willing and able to support new staff, managers or any team members who are having difficulty with the payroll process or are simply new to the system,” said Eileen McManus, Associate Vice President of Operations at HRHCare. “Managers throughout our network are grateful for her ongoing support and good humor as she reaches out to ensure that we are able to complete the approval process on time every time. The thoughtfulness and understanding that she extends to staff are true hallmarks of the Planetree Spirit.”

Planetree is the global leader in advancing patient-centered care solutions, integrating the technology of modern medicine with the healing dimensions of compassion, comfortable surroundings, shared knowledge and freedom to make educated choices. HRHCare has been an affiliate since 1996 and remains the only Federally Qualified Health Center to be a part of this alliance. The HRHCare Planetree Institute was established in 2012 and provides state-of-the-art training to prepare staff in delivering passionate and personalized care. The HRHCare Planetree Spirit Award honors employees who have been nominated by their colleagues for going above and beyond to provide individualized patient care and enhance health care services in their respective facility.
