Peekskill Patient Representative Wins Planetree Award for Excellence in Patient Care

Alicia HudsonPeekskill, NY – HRHCare (Hudson River HealthCare), a nonprofit system of Federally Qualified Health Centers offering a range of medical services for underserved communities throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island, is pleased to announce that Alicia Hudson, a patient representative at the HRHCare Jeannette J. Phillips Health Center at Peekskill, will be presented with a Planetree Spirit Award for excellence in patient care. HRHCare’s Planetree Institute presents these awards to employees who go above and beyond to make health care more personalized and create a warm and welcoming environment for all.
A member of the HRHCare family for only seven months, Alicia Hudson has already proven herself to be an incredible asset. Joining the team right in the midst of a major renovation to the Peekskill Health Center, she has shown incredible care and flexibility, stepping in wherever she is needed. When the lab at the Health Center was experiencing a temporary shortage of staff, Alicia called upon her past experience as a certified medical assistant with the Mount Kisco Medical Group and was trained to fill in for this role. Due to her willingness to serve and team spirit, lab services were able to remain fully operational during that period. Alicia has a deep commitment to care and has fully embraced the Health Center’s mission. “HRHCare has an unwavering commitment to providing high quality care to not just the underserved but to all members of the community,” said Alicia. “We are focused on improving the health of all of our patients and providing care at a low cost. This is what I believe separates HRHCare from other community health care providers in New York.” A graduate of the Sanford Brown Institute and a former cadet with the New York National Guard and Sargent First Class of the Peekskill Armory, Alicia enjoys spending her free time with her daughter and is very active with the Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Peekskill.
“Alicia is a motivated individual who works with a positive attitude in whatever setting she is placed,” said Jaslyn Mesa, Operations Manager at the HRHCare Jeannette J. Phillips Health Center at Peekskill. “She demonstrates a Planetree centered approach in all that she does at the Health Center and is committed to placing the needs of our patients first.”
Planetree is the global leader in advancing patient-centered care solutions, integrating the technology of modern medicine with the healing dimensions of compassion, comfortable surroundings, shared knowledge and freedom to make educated choices. HRHCare has been an affiliate since 1996 and remains the only Federally Qualified Health Center to be a part of this alliance. The HRHCare Planetree Institute was established in 2012 and provides state-of-the-art training to prepare staff in delivering passionate and personalized care. The HRHCare Planetree Spirit Award honors employees who have been nominated by their colleagues for going above and beyond to provide individualized patient care and enhance health care services in their respective facility.
