HRHCare Patient Representative from Beacon Wins Planetree Award for Excellence in Patient Care
Peekskill, NY – HRHCare (Hudson River HealthCare, Inc.), a nonprofit, federally qualified healthcare system offering a range of medical services for underserved areas throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island, is proud to announce that it has presented patient representative Melissa Broughton from Beacon, New York, with a Planetree Award for excellence in patient care. HRHCare’s Planetree Institute presents these awards to employees who go above and beyond to make healthcare more personalized and create a warm and welcoming environment for all.
Before becoming an HRHCare employee three years ago, Melissa Broughton was a patient at the HRHCare Health Center in Beacon. Inspired by the quality of care she received, she has gone on to become a champion of the Planetree model of patient-centered care since joining the HRHCare team. From staying after hours to make sure a patient has received his medication to encouraging others to sign up for healthcare under the Affordable Care Act, Melissa exemplifies what the Planetree philosophy is all about.
“Melissa has always gone the extra mile for our patients, and her smile and compassion are a part of her everyday function,” says fellow patient representative at the HRHCare Beacon Health Center, Aimee Chevere. “Her ability to connect with our patients on many different levels is a gift.”
