HRHCare Joins in National Food Day Campaign

On Friday, October 23rd, HRHCare will participate in the Food Day nationwide campaign with an ‘Apple Crunch’ at all of our 25 Health Centers! Patients and community members will be able to take home a selection of locally grown apples generously donated by orchards in our service area and learn where to find the closest farmers market. Information on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) will also be available.

A campaign started by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, Food day aims to inspire Americans to change their diets and food policies. Each year Food Day draws attention to issues such as nutrition, hunger, agricultural policy, animal welfare and food and farm worker justice. The theme of Food Day 2015 is ‘Greener Diets’, linking health to environmental issues.
