HRHCare Officially Breaks Ground for New Addition to the Peekskill Health Center

Serving the community for 40 years. Building a home for 40 more.

Peekskill, NY – HRHCare (Hudson River HealthCare), a nonprofit, federally qualified health care system offering a range of medical services for underserved communities throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island, broke ground this week for a new addition to their first health center location in Peekskill, founded nearly 40 years ago. Executives from HRHCare were joined by Peekskill Mayor Frank Catalina and other elected officials to celebrate this milestone for HRHCare and the entire Peekskill community.

As the primary health care facility serving the residents of Peekskill, HRHCare has been a fixture in the community since 1975. This new $11.5 million addition, projected to take nearly 2 years to complete, will add more than 20,000 square feet on to the existing building and provide a new south side entrance way. As well as creating easier access for patients, the addition will increase clinical capacity and allow for the expansion of lab services and the integration of case management.

“This groundbreaking is an exciting opportunity for both HRHCare and the City of Peekskill,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, President and CEO of HRHCare. “We expect to maintain the same level of quality services for our nearly 15,000 patients here in our Peekskill Health Center and at the same time we are increasing services to meet the future demand.” She credited the staff for continuing to keep services going during this expansion. “You are what make HRHCare an essential community health provider.”

When delivering his remarks on the expansion and importance of HRHCare in the community, Frank Catalina, Mayor of Peekskill, stated, “It is certainly a project that the City of Peekskill is very proud of, and we’re very proud of the work that HRHCare does here. Quite frankly, I don’t know what we would do without you.”
