Peekskill, NY – HRHCare (Hudson River HealthCare), a nonprofit, Federally Qualified Health Center offering a range of medical services for underserved communities throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island, is proud to announce that Jaslyn Mesa, Operations Coordinator of the HRHCare Health Center at Peekskill, will be presented with a Planetree Spirit Award for excellence in patient care. HRHCare’s Planetree Institute presents these awards to employees who go above and beyond to make health care more personalized and create a warm and welcoming environment for all.

Joining the HRHCare family as a full-time employee in 2007, Jaslyn Mesa brought with her 15 years of health care experience and a clear understanding of the importance of understanding and compassion in patient-centered care. Jaslyn has used her vast health care knowledge and creative sensibility to create just the right balance in tending to the business operations of the Health Center and building the morale of her team and the community she serves. From training and mentoring fellow staff, to creating holiday baskets for patients in need, to lending a helping hand to HRHCare Health Centers outside of her domain, Jaslyn never fails to inspire and infuses the Planetree spirit into everything she does. When asked about what the Health Center at Peekskill means to her, Jaslyn shared, “We are a pillar in the Peekskill community and will continue to do many great works here and in surrounding areas. Our mission to serve the underserved, provide quality care at a nominal fee and care for our patients as a whole is what truly sets us apart from any other health care provider.” A mother of three, Jaslyn enjoys singing, baking and growing sunflowers in her spare time. She has assisted with the births of four of her nephews and has plans to become a doula.

“As the Operations Coordinator for the largest and most complex Health Center in our network, Jaslyn does an outstanding job in managing from a patient-centered perspective,” said Eileen McManus, Associate Vice President of Operations at HRHCare. “She leads her teams, and she has many of them, with that same Planetree Spirit.”

Planetree is the global leader in advancing patient-centered care solutions, integrating the technology of modern medicine with the healing dimensions of compassion, comfortable surroundings, shared knowledge and freedom to make educated choices. HRHCare has been an affiliate since 1996 and remains the only Federally Qualified Health Center to be a part of this alliance. The HRHCare Planetree Institute was established in 2012 and provides state-of-the-art training to prepare staff in delivering passionate and personalized care. The HRHCare Planetree Spirit Award honors employees who have been nominated by their colleagues for going above and beyond to provide individualized patient care and enhance health care services in their respective facility.
