HRHCare Telecommunications Manager Receives Planetree Award for Excellence in Patient Care

pppppPeekskill, NY – HRHCare Community Health is pleased to announce that Telecommunications Manager Patrick Thompson has been awarded the September 2016 Planetree Spirit Award for Excellence in Patient Care. The HRHCare Planetree Institute presents these awards to employees who go above and beyond to make health care more personalized and create a warm and welcoming environment for all.

Patrick Thompson, known as Pat to his colleagues, can be relied upon time after time to support teams across the HRHCare network in optimizing their responsiveness to patients calling the Health Centers. A member of the HRHCare family for 11 years, Pat is known for his ability to effectively and considerately interact with managers and staff with varying degrees of technological familiarity. While he may not work directly with patients, his steadfast monitoring of the effectiveness of the HRHCare phone system makes an irreplaceable contribution to the organization’s patient care. His dedication to the job was made obvious just recently with the opening of the new HRHCare Health Centers in Nyack and on Washington Street in Poughkeepsie, coming into work during his vacation to ensure that both locations were on track to make and receive calls from patients. When asked how he thought HRHCare succeeded in providing high quality patient care, Pat responded, “Compassion, communication and competence. HRHCare makes a continuous effort to improve services, facilities and availability.” In his free time, Pat enjoys spending as much time away from computers as possible. Instead he actively volunteers in his community, serving as a vestry member at St. Mary’s Church in Mohegan Lake and volunteering in local food pantry and Midnight Run programs.

“Pat is a stellar example of the Planetree Spirit,” said Eileen McManus, HRHCare AVP of Operations. “He extends himself, his gifts and his talents to others with the intention of responding wholeheartedly to the call to serve.”

Planetree is the global leader in advancing patient-centered care solutions, integrating the technology of modern medicine with the healing dimensions of compassion, comfortable surroundings, shared knowledge and freedom to make educated choices. HRHCare has been an affiliate since 1996 and remains the only Federally Qualified Health Center to be a part of this alliance. The HRHCare Planetree Institute was established in 2012 and provides state-of-the-art training to prepare staff in delivering passionate and personalized care. The HRHCare Planetree Spirit Award honors employees who have been nominated by their colleagues for going above and beyond to provide individualized patient care and enhance health care services in their respective facility.
