Hudson River Health Care and Wölffer Estate Vineyard to host Long Island’s First Sustainable Rosé tasting to Benefit Suffolk County Agricultural Workers

SAGAPONACK, NY — On Thursday, June 6, the Hudson River Health Care (HRHCare) Foundation will kick off summer at Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack with their fifth annual Honoring the Hands event. Guests are invited to enjoy an incredible evening, featuring some of Long Island’s finest sustainably-produced rosés, locally-sourced foods, and live music. Guests can challenge themselves to a tasting notes matching game and tour Wölffer and HRHCare’s mobile health center, all while learning about sustainable wine production and supporting local agricultural workers and their families.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some of the finest rosés and food that Suffolk County has to offer, while supporting a very important cause.” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, HRHCare CEO. “HRHCare is committed to ensuring continued access to the health care services the region’s agricultural workers need and deserve. Our thanks to Wölffer Estate Vineyards and our other farm and vineyard partners who help make this special night possible.”

Proceeds from Honoring the Hands support the HRHCare Foundation’s Agricultural Worker’s Health Fund, which provides much-needed primary and preventive care year-round at the 10 HRHCare health centers throughout Suffolk County, and through the Days of Health Program and mobile health center. In partnership with local farm and vineyard owners, these initiatives deliver care directly to agricultural workers and their families at farms, vineyards, community agencies, and churches across Long Island. HRHCare currently provides care for nearly 5,000 agricultural workers in Suffolk County alone. Guests will have an additional opportunity to support the fund through the “Vine of Hope” by “harvesting” an item off the vine to help offset the cost of specific initiatives.

This year’s Honoring the Hands event will be held on Thursday, June 6, at Wölffer Estate Vineyards, 139 Sagg Road in Sagaponack, NY. Tickets are $125 and can be purchased online at hrhcare.org/events, or by calling the HRHCare Foundation at (914) 734-8555.
