Hudson River Health Care Provides Increased Access to Flu Shots after Suffolk County Declares Flu Epidemic

Flu Shot Walk-In Day at HRHCare Health Centers in Coram, Amityville, and Riverhead on February 28

Amityville, New York – In light ofSuffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and Health Commissioner Dr. James Tomarken declaring a flu epidemic in Suffolk County, Hudson River Health Care (HRHCare) will be holding a flu shot walk-in day on Friday, February 28 from 9:30am to 4:00pm at its’ Suffolk County health centers in Amityville, Coram, and Riverhead. No one will be turned away from getting a flu shot due to inability to pay.

“HRHCare is responding to the increased number of flu cases in Suffolk County in a number of ways, including partnering with the Suffolk County Department of Health by operating flu immunization clinics in our health centers,” said HRHCare Chief Medical Officer Sophia McIntyre, MD, MPH, MBA, FAAFP, CEP. “We are actively spreading awareness around the importance of vaccinations through the use of our mobile health center vans and offering same-day and walk-in appointments for flu shots at many of our health center sites.”
