New York, NY – Hudson River Health Care (HRHCare), one of largest federally qualified health center (FQHC) networks in the country, hosted its annual Cornucopia Benefit on Saturday, November 2nd. Held at The Altman Building in Manhattan, the event raised over $600,000 to support the comprehensive primary and preventive health services that HRHCare provides to more than 225,000 people in need throughout the Hudson Valley, New York City, and Long Island. This was the first gala for HRHCare and Brightpoint Health, a network of FQHCs throughout the five boroughs of New York City, as a combined organization since their successful merge in December of 2018.
During the event, guests also had the opportunity to contribute to a special fund in support of HRHCare’s HIV/AIDS care programs, which include comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention, and education programs across the HRHCare network.
“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s Cornucopia Benefit, our first gala as a combined organization with Brightpoint Health,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, CEO of HRHCare. “The funds we raised will bring much needed primary and preventive health care to underserved populations in our communities and ensure that even more New Yorkers have access to our high-quality services.”
In honor of their support of the HRHCare mission, awards were presented to Doug Wirth, President and CEO of Amida Care, Scott Fein, CEO of BioReference, Jeffrey and Catherine Pavero, owners of Pavero Farms and Cold Storage Corporation, and Brightpoint Care Board Chair John Russell on behalf of the entire Brightpoint Care Board.
