Welcome to Hudson River Health Care (HRHCare)! We are a network of community health centers throughout New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island, providing comprehensive primary and preventive health care to all. Since we opened our doors as a federally qualified health center (FQHC) in 1975, our mission has been to increase access to comprehensive primary and preventive health care, and improve the health status of our communities, especially for the underserved and vulnerable. We currently serve over 185,000 patients through more than 820,000 visits annually at our 29 health centers, including two mobile health units.
For Penn State Students: Summer Internship at HRHCare
Hudson River Health Care has a long-standing relationship with Penn State alumni, including our own President and CEO, Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, one of the first graduates of HPA!
Join Hudson River Health Care for a summer to learn more about the importance of community health, and experience health care delivery from an FQHC perspective. The internship includes:
- 168 hours, with flexibility in scheduling
- Summer stipend
- Work experience in our Tarrytown and Peekskill offices
“Penn State’s School of Communications had an excellent alumni program, with speakers coming to us to discuss career and internship opportunities. I graduated thinking I would be doing advertising at an agency in New York City, but after doing PR/Communications at HRHCare, I decided health care was what I was really passionate about. I’ve since gotten my MHA degree, and am loving the community health world!”
– Laura Kreiser, HRHCare Communications Department, 2013
