Representative Yvette D. Clarke Visits Current and Future Sites of Brightpoint Health Centers in Brooklyn

Brooklyn, New York – On Thursday, August 15th, Representative Yvette D. Clarke (D), representing the 9th Congressional District of New York, visited the Brightpoint Church Avenue Health Center, a member of Hudson River Health Care (HRHCare), located in Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighborhood. She was also able to visit the site of the future Bedford Avenue Health Center. Joined by HRHCare executives and staff along with Cheryl Hall of the Caribbean Women’s Health Association, newly affiliated with HRHCare, Congresswoman Clarke was able to learn more about the vital impact the health center has on the community through the high-quality medical and social services it provides.

“My constituents in Central Brooklyn deserve access to affordable, high quality health care—it’s a necessity in our community,” said Representative Yvette D. Clarke (NY-09). “Health centers in my district, such as the Brightpoint facility and the upcoming facility that is being built on Bedford and Tilden, provide care that is up to par with the needs in central Brooklyn.  I am happy to build these partnerships with leaders in the health care industry so we can work together to create initiatives and programs best suited to uplift and protect the health of our community.”

“We are thrilled to host Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke at our state-of-the-art Church Avenue Health Center in Brooklyn, and our future Bedford Avenue Health Center, mere steps from where Congresswoman Clarke herself grew up,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, CEO of HRHCare. “Congresswoman Clarke deeply understands the value of community collaboration and cultural responsiveness that distinguish our health centers. We are thankful to have her as a leading voice in Congress to push for continued federal resources that allow community health centers to deliver affordable, accessible health care to all.”

“It was an honor for Congresswoman Clarke to tour both sites to see firsthand what services HRHCare/Brightpoint bring to her district,” said Cheryl Hall, Executive Director, Caribbean Women’s Health Association. “Over the years, she has worked tirelessly to increase access to care for her constituents.”

The Brightpoint Church Avenue Health Center opened its doors in 2016. Current services provided at the health center include primary care, pediatrics, OB/GYN services, and behavioral health care. This health center also serves as the base for the Brightpoint Brooklyn Health Home care management team.
